Weightmania Pro is probably the most comprehensive diet and fitness software we’ve come across. It offers a large range of useful tools to track and analyze your food and workouts, allowing you to easily identify the factors affecting your progress. It’s available to download or you can access your account on the cloud.
This software works on two distinct factors: tracking and analyzing. Let’s talk about its tracking tools first. These allow you to keep clear and accurate notes on everything you eat and each exercise you perform.
However, WeightMania is not just a simple calorie counter, as you can include a vast range of other information, such as your body measurements and weight, to find out if it’s actually having any effect. This information can then be processed and analyzed (which we’ll come to soon) so you can find out where you’re doing well and where you need to improve.
As well as tracking calories and exercises, which is fairly common, you can also track more obscure data such as the weather, temperature, sleep and more. You might wonder why you’d want to do this, but the reasons become apparent when you begin to create charts. Simply put: you can find out whether a lack of sleep, the rain or a hot day might lead to a decrease in your exercises or a change in your diet.
There are 12 apps to download (for a small fee) which help you to keep notes on all the data. Whilst it’s unusual to charge for these apps, it’s a pretty low price compared with how much the software could cost overall, and they’ll make your life easier.
Once all your information is collected, you can start working out what it all means. Graphs can easily be created with a single click, and you can view four at once. This allows you to compare the data and see if there are any patterns. For example, you might notice that there are peaks in your weight, where it’s gone up. You can then check other factors, such as the temperature, to see if that has any connection. You might learn, for example, that you eat more calorific foods and do less exercise when it’s particularly hot. Subsequently you can make a conscious decision to watch what you’re eating on hot days, and decide to turn on the air conditioning when you work out. Clever!
Weight Mania Pro is very accurate, with more than 40,000 foods tracked and over 16,000 serving sizes. This means you don’t need to worry about weighing every single item you buy, or that it won’t be listed. After all there’s a big difference between guessing at how much chocolate you’ve eaten, and knowing for sure.
So what’s the bad news? Well, there isn’t much. The only factor which might dissuade some people from buying this software is that it isn’t cheap, particularly if you opt for the cloud options. You can buy it for business use but the saving isn’t all that brilliant so you’ll have to charge clients a decent amount to cover your costs.
You might also struggle with the software if you’re not that mathematically minded and aren’t sure how to read graphs. If so, you might need to find a little support from a family member, friend, or even a professional trainer. There’s also the option of joining a group on WeightMania.com and asking others to help guide you through what the graphs show.
Over all, we were very impressed with what Weight Mania Pro offered. Its comprehensive tools provide some great features for tracking and analyzing your data, helping you to make more informed decisions to work towards a healthier, happier you.
